Hello Neighbors–
We are all aware of the on-going safety issues, seasonal congestion, and parking problems in our neighborhood, and we share concerns about:
- Emergency vehicles being able to pass
- Frequent speeding
- Resident parking crowded out by tourist parking
- Traffic jams
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) did two traffic studies of SW Fairview from SW Rutland to SW Champlain and agrees that congestion and speeding are issues. PBOT and Parks will meet with us at the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association (AHNA) meeting on February 12. PBOT wants to know that our neighborhood supports changes to parking rules, and we are conducting a survey to assess opinions about potential changes. Consistent with PBOT policy, we can accept only one response per household. The response deadline is Sunday, January 21.
Email and residence addresses are being collected only to ensure that only residents respond to the survey. Personal information will not be used for any other purpose.
