About 100 neighbors donated items suitable for resale to Habitat ReStore at our spring recyle event June 3. Habitat filled three trucks with donations, and PDX Junk-Out took what could not be sold.
Portland Fire & Rescue and AH Firewise talked with neighbors about reducing wildfire risks to our homes and how to get a free exterior home and property assessment. AHNET members reminded us how to prepare for an emergency such as earthquake, ice storm or wildfire. Neighbors picked up literature; enjoyed coffee, lemonade and cookies. This year’s event was the biggest yet, and we thank our neighbors for their generosity.
AHNA thanks its Board members and neighbors who organized and volunteered at our third spring recycling event, and Portland Fire & Rescue for its invaluable help. This community-building event was made possible by a grant through NWNW from the Office of Community and Civic Life of the City of Portland.
